Aimless Wandering

Still out here

I am still with Colonial Freight Systems, for the time being anyway even though I like the truck and most of the runs the money coming in is a big issue in that there has not been any, it has been to hit or miss for me to stay any longer, but I need to get out of the hole and put spme money aside to travel on, I am not sure where to yet, I do have a couple of ideas. The Oil and Gas industry is looking pretty good right now.

But for now I will continue to run my ass off trying to get ahead.

I have been able to get some bike rides in which is a very good thing, I wish I could do more of it, on my last trip through Denver I picked up Rakasa and now have two bikes on the truck, it makes it a little crowded, even though I like having both with me I think its best to leave Rakasa with Zahara in Knoxville so when I get some time I will leave her there.

The new Job

Back in April of 2011, I felt it was time for a change job wise, the company I was working for although not bad they had and still have communication issues (what company doesn't) but I didn't see it getting any better so the search started.

I wanted a Volvo 780 for the room only a few company's use those, I found Colonial Freight systems out of Knoxville TN, what they offer is a walk away lease program, I thought long and hard on this sent in my app and did some research on Colonial I didn't find much online and what I did find wasn't to bad, some former driver bitching but a few currant drivers countering the bitches,

At the end of April I was told I was hired at Colonial, but I put it off until I could talk to a few of the drivers, something I found to be a pain as most wouldn't answer the radio and I didn't fuel where they did, but those I did talk with always gave a positive answer to my questions.

So around the end of June I finally made up my mind to leave FRE and go to Colonial I was to start orientation Sept 5th, but before then I ended up in the Grand Island hospital with a couple of blood clots in my lungs, that in it's self is a story for a later date.

So anyway I packed up my race trailer hook it to Zahara and drove the 1200 miles to Knoxville, the orientation went well it was a long 4 days with home work no less lol.

I was able to pick out a 2010 silver Volvo 780 with more miles on the clock than I would like but I didn't have much of a choice, there were four of us in class and three 780's

Since I moved in to "Streaker" I haven't stopped rolling.

Rakasa is done.

I finally got my Kona Dawg Deluxe built Pedal Pushers did this as well, I with with SRAM X9, Avid CR Elixr brakes, Fox TALAS 35,150 fork Chris King headset and bottom bracket, Race Face AM Atlas cranks,stem and bar,and seat post with a Fi'zi:k saddle, I had to wait for the wheels, I got in a hurry and bought a set of Easton Haven magnesium wheel with a 9mm front axle, the problem is I needed a 15mm thru axle thinking it would be easy to get the part I got them anyway, well it wasn't easy to get the part Easton was out of them and it took like 4/5 months for them to get them in.
after the long wait I took the box of parts to PPC,
I still need to get a fitting the components work great.

It’s been a while

After thinking about what I wanted to write, I just didn't sit down and do it, there has been a lot going on I finally got my new bike built it's a '09 Ridley Boreas, I got 2010 SRAM Force components, American Classic Victory wheels, FSA bar and stem a Thomson seat post and Speedplay pedals.

I had Pedal Pushers Cyclery in Golden CO build the bike and also fit me to it, You cannot go wrong with them to do anything bike related for you.

The Ridley is a dream to ride weighing in at 18.30lbs I still need to get use to the Speedplay pedals heck I only have 40 or miles on it and after using SPD's on the old Trek 4300 which I really didn't like most of the time I could not get in them which drove me nuts

I built "Arabella" with SRAM components, FSA stem and bar the saddle in this picture is a loner from PPC I have since bought a Fizik Aliante in white to replace that one. The overall ride has been great not that I would know any different.

I have rode a few miles on "Arabella" I not gotten to ride the century (100miles) yet my personal best is 72.5 miles.

I know it has been a long time since I have written anything on here, I think that watching or reading @TWBrit and @Gabsatrucker, I think that blogging could be a good venting place.

I should also proof read as well, I had wrote some of this a while back with the intentions of posting it at a later date, I'm not going to go back and change it now. lol

Well after a few years of not blogging I will give it a shot once again, at one time I used to use Yahoo 360 and blog what was going on in my life, but that ended when yahoo got rid of 360.
I tried myspace and my yearbook I never really liked myspace and my yearbook got old after a while now there is facebook and twitter both of those I enjoy. So we'll see how this goes.
